Day 01 : Delhi - Amritsar (By train: Golden Temple Mail - 2903)
You will be met upon by a TNS TRAVELS representative in Delhi, who will receive you with warmth you would be handed over with your travel docket which will contain all the necessary documents & guidelines, which would be necessary for you during the tour. The docket would mainly consist of your train tickets to & fro, hotel voucher.
Later you will be transferred to the railway station from where you will board an overnight train for Amritsar.
Your meals shall be on-board.
Overnight journey by train.
Day 02 : Amritsar (the city of the holy golden temple)
Early in the morning upon your arrival at the railway station, you will be received by our representative who will receive you with warmth and transfer you to the hotel where you will check-in.
After check-in you will have your breakfast and relax for some time.
Later in the day you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Amritsar.
AMRITSAR, the name of the city derives from the name of the pool around the Golden Temple (aka Harmandir Sahib) and means "holy pool of nectar". It is the spiritual and cultural center of the Sikh religion, and they are rightfully very proud of the city and their very beautiful and unique Gurdwara (place of worship). The Golden Temple was initiated by Guru Ramdas Ji, the fourth Sikh Guru, and completed in 1601 by his successor Guru Arjan Dev Ji. It is now a major pilgrimage and tourism center.
During your sightseeing tour, first you will visit the famous HARMANDIR SAHIB, aka’ Golden Temple.
GOLDEN TEMPLE, the main attraction in the city, and the most important religious place to the Sikhs. It's a stunning complex, and always full of thousands of pilgrims from all over India. The excitement to be here is infectious, and many people will be more than happy to tell you all about their religion and customs, and show you around the temple itself.
Cover your head, remove your shoes and wander around one of the most amazing place in India.
After your visit to this exotic complex, you will proceed for Jallianwala Bagh & Mata Temple
Jallianwala Bagh (Garden) is a short 5-minute walk from the Golden Temple, and is the site of the 1919 Amritsar massacre.
You will also visit the Summer Palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji.
After sightseeing here is over, in the afternoon you will visit Wagah Border.
WAGAH is a border town straddling the line between Pakistan and India, 29 km from the town of Lahore on the Pakistani side and 28 km from Amritsar on the Indian side. This is the only crossing point between Pakistan and India that is regularly open to foreigners.
During your visit, you will see the daily flag raising and lowering ceremony at Wagah Border, done with fascinating pomp and ceremony which involves lots of tall soldiers in massive turbans goose-stepping about and slamming gates. Both the Indian and Pakistani border forces do this and it has become a tradition for people from both sides gather and see this. Both sides synchronise their parade and the entire event is meant to create a feel-good/patriotic fervour amongst the crowd.
Evening shall be at leisure, you can relax at your hotel.
Your overnight stay will be in Amritsar.
Day 03 : Amritsar - Delhi (by train no. AMRITSAR SHATABDI - 2014)
Early In the morning our Amritsar representative will arrange for your transfer to the railway station, from where you will board your train for Delhi.
Upon your arrival here, our representative will receive you at the railway station and later transfer you to the airport for onward journey, with sweet memories of the tour with TNS
